Md Abdul Bari

Md Abdul Bari is a passionate volunteer. He started voluntary activities in his place of birth by forming a social welfare club, in collaboration with few other friends, during his days at high school. Through that organization, he was actively involved in promoting literacy among the adults, especially women, afforestation movement, taking care of the childless elderly people, etc. He and his organization also took part mobilizing reliefs whenever a natural disaster struck Bangladesh. Since then, he has never stopped volunteering.
Eventually, he extended his hands towards the House of Volunteers in 2014 being inspired by its amazing works and great vision. He truly believes that the culture of voluntary activities and community services can shape a resilient society, which is more relevant when capitalism is in its peak. As a civil servant, he made significant contribution in framing a startup ecosystem in Bangladesh. He graduated in Urban and Regional Planning from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and did his MBA from the Institute of Business Administration under the University of Dhaka. He takes immense interest in travelling, meeting new people and networking.
