A Difficult & Incomparable Prospective Period

“We have always held to the hope, the belief, the conviction that there is a better life, a better world, beyond the horizon” Franklin D. Roosevelt

As a University student, I think of me as a greatly responsible person for the society in a time of the Covid-19 crisis. Mass people expect some good initiatives from us. In these quarantine days, I tried to fulfill some of my responsibilities towards society & my family in the hope of betterment.

A positive attitude involves being expectant about difficult situations & enjoy life as it is. I love to enjoy my life as it is better than many people who even don’t get food or a chance to go to school. In lockdown because of the corona virus, I am reading storybooks, religious books & fulfilling my bucket list of reading. I love to drink coffee while reading calmly. I have done some online courses on communication skills, leadership roles, emotional intelligence & psychology. Psychology was not my major in graduation but this situation creates my interest in this topic. In hall life, my life routine was such a mess. Now I am trying to back at a healthy routine. I am going to bed early, sleeping 7-8 hours & taking my meals timely. I am passing some quality time with my family. It’s really a good opportunity for me to come much closer to my family. I know that the situation is very difficult for each & every one. But all things have pros and cons. I am focusing on the advantages & its motivating me to keep a positive attitude.

In quarantine we all family members lived together. Income decreased on some scale. Everyone is locked at the home. The psychological condition is very unstable. To keep us mentally stable, we do some things at home like

  • As a Muslim family, we pray five times a day.
  • We gossip together about many interesting facts across the world.
  • We play indoor games together.
  • I love cooking with the help of my younger brother.

For keeping a positive attitude, we have to keep our family happy first. In these quarantine days, my father has become very impatient sometimes. I understand that there are many reasons for this kind of behavior. Then I talked to him & make him realize the fact. He is trying to overcome that situation by exercising, reading & yoga. I have always seen my mother as a super-strong lady. But this difficult situation makes this strong woman break emotionally. Now she is always tensed about something & seems like her works have grown a lot after lockdown. I am trying to help her emotionally & she is extremely happy about this. My brother is an HSC candidate & he is tensed about his exam & admission. For reducing his tension, I am grooming him & giving him guidelines for study. In this way, I am motivating my family to keep a positive attitude. Lastly, I am concluding with one of my favorite quotes:

“You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once but don’t underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own” –Michelle Obama
