5th Mentoring session of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize Bangladesh 2023
The Stockholm Junior Water Prize Bangladesh is a competition arranged for innovative youths, where the national level winning team represents Bangladesh in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition held in Sweden. This competition encourages young minds to address various water-related issues.
On May 6, 2023, the fifth mentoring session was held at the ITN Center of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) with the eight selected teams for the national level competition. The purpose of the session was to provide necessary guidance on their prepared projects and presentations.
Mentors present at the session were Jafarul Hassan, Executive Director of House Of Volunteers Foundation Bangladesh; Samia Anwar Rafa, Technical Associate Officer of WaterAid Bangladesh and Co-Founder and Project Coordinator of WaterWomen.
Competitors presented their sample performance during the mentoring session. Each presentation was themed with unique concepts that asserted the participant’s eagerness in raising water awareness. The participants, when asked, expressed their appeasement with the overall arrangement. The team BreatheAqua commented, “We got rid of all our doubts regarding our project. It was an impactful session for us.” On an ending note Jafarul Hassan, Executive director, HOV, advised the participants to “Go for it and challenge themselves”.
Note that on April 12, 2023, the competitors submitted their final project. Later, on May 19, 2023, the national level final of the competition will be held. The national organizer of the session was House of Volunteers Foundation Bangladesh, and along with co-organizer Wateraid strategic partners were ITEN-BUET, technical partner
ESTeX, technology partner Miyaki, and media partner BDNews24.com.
